About Me

I graduated from Holly Pond High School long after children stopped walking to school barefooted in the snow, but before we had cell phones, laptops, and internet. I'm not married and have no children. I am very close to my youngest nephew, Christopher, who lives next door to me. He will be in seventh grade at Holly Pond this year and he's been giving me lots of advice about teaching middle school. He helped me move into my new room this summer and he deserves a huge thanks for all his hard work!

Occasionally I like to play video games, I'm almost finished with Bioshock and I have a black mage and a beastmaster in Final Fantasy XI. I adore the Science channel and love to look for science videos and articles on the internet. The most likely place to run into me outside of school is Berkley Bob's Coffee House in Cullman. They have great coffee, really nice people who hang out there, and free wifi.

Education

I have two undergraduate degrees from Athens State College, one in Mathematics and one in Math and Science Education. My Master's degree from the University of Alabama is in Math and General Science Education.

Certifications

I am highly qualified to teach Math and General Science in grades 7-12.

Goals

I think science is the most interesting, relevant, and fun class in school and I want my students to feel the same way!
